An Introduction to Cannabis
To fully understand cannabis products, there are three key factors to understand about each individual product. First, the cannabinoids, which are the active compounds like CBD and THC, then the product type/medium and lastly the terpenes. The different cannabinoids you ingest and the way that you consume them have the greatest impact on the effects you will feel, while terpenes will have a smaller impact.
What is Hemp?
Hemp is defined as: the plant Cannabis Sativa L and any part of the plant, that contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-9 THC). Many people ask what the difference is between cannabis and hemp, and the answer is just the amount of Delta 9 THC. All Carolindica products contain less than that 0.3% concentration of Delta 9 THC.
What are Cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are the active compounds found in hemp plants. There are many different cannabinoids in the hemp plant, each with their own benefits and uses. We touch on some of these and their benefits below, but you can click here to learn even more about them.
Cannabis Product Types
Cannabis products can be found in a wide variety of product types or mediums, and each of mediums change the nature of the effects. You can click on any product titles to see our full list of products available in that product type!
Often referred to as sublingual drops, tinctures and other drops consist of concentrated CBD, THC, or other cannabinoids suspended in MCT (coconut) oil. These products often come in droplet form to allow you to add dosing to your favorite drink, snack, or to take under the tongue for the fastest effects.
Capsules provide the same great benefits of tinctures, but delivered in precise dosing so that you can feel confident in achieving your desired effects. Simply pick your preferred cannabis capsules, choose the right dose based on your preferences, and enjoy! These capsules can also be popped open if you would like to take less than one.
Edible products, like our gummies and candies, can provide an impactful experience as the body absorbs the cannabis through the digestive tract. Simply measure your dose (be sure to start on the lighter side!), enjoy your treat, and wait. The effects of your edible may take between 30 and 60 minutes to kick in.
Products such as our CBD Salve/ Body Butter can provide targeted relief directly at the source of the issues. Simply apply our topicals as needed to the affected area, and the absorption will lead to relief!
Enjoy your favorite cannabinoids in their purest form! Our concentrates contain at least 85% of each specific cannabinoid, and are the most dynamic product type. You can mix them into other smoking items to smoke/dab them, mix into food, or make them into any type of product you want. We offer optional terpene infusions to improve effects and flavor.
Cannabis flower refers to the cannabis buds, grown from cannabis plants. Flower is naturally full spectrum, containing a wide array of cannabinoids and terpenes in their rawest form. Flower can be smoked, vaped, or processed into concentrates.

Combine convenience and potency with a vape cartridge from Carolindica. A vape contains cannabinoid concentrates, that are vaporized and smoked similar to flower. Wherever you are, you can push a button to activate the heat on your vaporizer, warming the concentrated cannabinoids to be inhaled as needed.
What are Terpenes?
Terpenes are aromatic compounds that are naturally present in cannabis flower, and are responsible for the variety of different flavors that can be found in our products. Varying levels of terpenes are the reason that different strains of cannabis flower can smell completely different from one another, and why two strains can have similar THC concentrations but provide different effects. There is also evidence of terpenes assisting in the Entourage Effect, causing the effects of other cannabinoids to be stronger. There is some evidence that terpenes themselves can help with anxiety reduction and relaxation, which is one of the reasons Carolindica infuses all of their products with natural terpenes, to help enhance effects. Terpenes such as linalool may give a relaxing effect, while terpenes such as myrcene may enhance psychoactive effects. Terpenes can also provide a natural way to infuse flavors into concentrates or edibles, as just like everything else we work with, it started out as a plant! Carolindica uses premium terpenes in all of our products, to enhance effects and/or add flavor.
